Pardon the dust, my site was undergoing a revision so I had to hold off on posting new things for a bit!
Now we're back and I'm excited to update everyone on all of the fabulous things we've been up to in the library!
We've been making our way through the rest of the CCBA Picture Book titles each week! Here's a peek at what we've been reading:Dad and the Dinosaur - Where we talked about how it's okay to be scared of things and to need things to help us when we are.
Life on Mars - Where we looked at how sometimes our expectations can lead us to miss something important.
The Antlered Ship & Leave Me Alone! - Where we discussed questioning and wondering

Be Quiet! - We learned a big word with this one! Onomatopoeia
Each grade has also been working hard on new things in the library.
Kindergarten: We've been learning about the parts of the computer and what the parts do!
1st: We've been working on logging ourselves into the computer and we've started going to my.bvsd.org to use some new programs.
2nd: We've been practicing getting into my.bvsd.org and using the programs there.
3rd: We've been learning about the library search and how to find books.
4th: We've been reviewing finding books in the library and learning about systems and organization.
5th: We tried a book tasting! This was a great event where the 5th graders had a chance to explore 6 different Genres of books and try a few things they might not have tried before. They got to record their thoughts on a menu and keep track of books for later on a bookmark. Click the link for pictures of the event from one of the classes.
Also a big thank you to everyone who came to Maker Camp! It was a fun event and I'm hoping to put together another one this year!
